just attempted to cook qunioa for the first time and it turned out really well! had it with a stir-fry made from fresh fish and greens- was absolutely delicious! will definitely be getting it again, i only just realised my supermarket stocked it today and it was super cheap too!
It’s been a while since I did this because I kinda feel a little annoying when I do but it seems to help. I feel much more accountable for what I eat and I eat a lot less!

Spent the morning wandering around at the Summer Show (like a carnival/agricultural fair type thing), then went for a hike in the afternoon.

I’m well under my goal intake (although to be completely honest I’m sure this isn’t accurate because I haven’t been monitoring my serving sizes) but I’ll probably make a healthy snack later on just incase.

Spent the morning at the beach so swam and walked and all that, then later in the evening I did a big hike and climbed our city’s highest mountain! It was the first time I’ve done something like that all by myself and I was so surprised at how well I did because I’m usually quite self-deprecating and not very motivated but I did it! Yay me!

Vegetarian fried rice. Ate out tonight, tried to make the healthiest choice I could at the place we were eating but I know my meal would have still been around the 800 calorie mark. I could’ve easily left half on my plate and been fine because it was such a large meal but I’ve always been told never to waste food and it’s hard sitting there with it in front of me while everyone else is still eating. Two things I learnt tonight: Eating out is hard, and portion control is harder.

20 mins moderate intensity on rowing machine. Today was supposed to be a running day but the weather was crap so I substituted another type of cardio. I also hung around while my boyfriend did his strength training and wanted to try it myself so he tweaked the workouts so I’d be able to do them and I ended up doing a full on weight lifting session. Was really good!

It’s been a bad two days food-wise. I need to have more willpower and self control, but I have no idea how to get it. I’m completely fine when it comes to working out but food is such a problem for me. Ugh. Tomorrow is a new day I guess.

Spent the day in the kitchen baking cookies! Made a batch of chocolate chip cookies and oatmeal raisin cookies then had two of each. Good for the soul, not so great for the calorie count. Put me up to a total of almost 2000. I really must learn to eat sweets in moderation, but I gotta admit 4 is an improvement for me (I usually eat the whole lot!).

With the addition of my workout I’m running a little low on calories today so I might just grab some fruit and have a cup of tea before bed.
Had such a lovely day today, spent the afternoon at the beach with my boyfriend, had my first dip in the ocean in months and even saw a pod of dolphins! Really proud of myself for eating so well and keeping up with my exercise too. Hope you guys had a good day :)
